This is actually pretty old, did this more than three years ago. Submitted it to Retrogade back then. I see a ton of things I could've done better, but I wanted to keep it all 'vanilla', so to speak. But anyway, here it is for the brand new art portal! Hope you like it!
That said, I'm working on a new, insanely detailed spacescape. Don't know when it'll be finished though. I keep putting it off and all that.

Photo manipulation is not tolerated.
If my art isn't allowed up because its edited from a photo, then you cant have it up either.
Comepletely awesome, the most detailed picture i have ever seen.
just wondering...
Author's Response:
Well, I only used filters for the sun. Other planets are made using textures extracted from photo's. But everyone's entitled to their opinion, how misinformed it may be.
This is a beautiful piece of art work, the colours are engaging and the detail is really fantastic. I am an aspiring artist myself, and seeing work this good really does drive me forward.
MORE! MORE! MORE!
Author's Response:
Thank you, I'm glad to hear this motivates you as an artist!
I like it but the image seems a little too colourful and eye catching. Like there are so many different colors and all of them are bright, it's hard to take the image in as a whole, especially when you view it up close. And the textures on the planets seem way to big. Or are they way to small? I don't know the terminology, but when I look at it up close it seems low res.
I still like it though.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the review! Yeah it is pretty over-the-top colour-wise. And the textures on the planet are a big over-scaled, which is causing the low-res look you describe. Thanks for your helpful review!
This is AMAZING. How the hell did you make this? Its on my desktop (centered is best) too and i'm wondering how long it took! Its massive too! God i wish i was that good. Your picture looks better than as if philip straub made it!!
Author's Response:
Wow, thank you! I'm glad you like it so much. :)
I made it using Photoshop. Seeing how I did this more than three years ago, I'm not really sure how long it took me, but several hours would be a good guess.
Thanks again!
It really is a lot better when viewed in large format. Amazing really. Great job, I'm envious.
Author's Response:
It's a big compliment to have your art being used as desktop. Glad you like it!
This is a genius piece of work. Everything is so... real looking. This makes space look so colorful, so peaceful. It makes me imagine even more the beauty of the universe.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the compliment! I'm glad you liked it!
I like the glowy vibe you put on it. My only problem is that the texture or whatever you used on the sun looks way too filtered and cheesy. Other than that, it's great.
Author's Response:
Yes, you're right. The sun relies heavily on filters. But like I said, this is really old. My next piece will be much better with much less filters! :)
Thanks for the review!
This is one of the coolest and most beautiful things I've ever seen. I'm totally making this my new desktop wallpaper
Author's Response:
Wow, when people make your art their desktop wallper that is a very good sign! Thanks! :)
is this what it looks like before worlds collide?
Author's Response:
I don't know, it might! Didn't really make this with that in mind though.
Anyway, thanks for the review!
