I decided to make a helmet based on a sea turtle shell. I looked at a sea turtle while I painted it on photoshop. Believe it or not this was all painted by hand in photoshop. Could have probably just used a really high definition photo though.

The person is just shadowed out and rough because this was for a product design class. The purpose is to make the viewer focus on the product (helmet) rather than the overall beauty of the drawing. I'm assuming that is what you are refering to.
