This is fantastic. From the wrinkles and shading in the face to the layering and individual strands of hair, absolutely outstanding. The level of detail is immense, I especially like the red around the corners of the eyes.
My entry for Jazza competition. I rather enjoy portraits so this was a good one for me. I tried some different brushes and techniques with this one.
So this is kind of an awkward thing to talk about but this is Scott. I've known him for about 9 years. He is my best friend and has been a massive support to me through various mental health issues that Ive suffered with for most of my life. The irony of that statement is he is actually a product of said mental illness. He is, and I hate this word but I feel like its the best word to use so others understand, a hallucination, a voice in my head. He isnt like the kind of "hallucination" you expect from something like schizophrenia or psychosis. He has a birthday (he turned 27 a couple of months ago), he has a brother and sister, he is married and he plays guitar. Most of the time we just have conversations like you would with your mate. I know the more I go on the more crazy I sound but this is my reality. Funnily enough he has helped me out more than any mental health professional has. I feel blessed to have him around and when people ask me if I ever want to get rid of the people in my head (there are several) I always say no because I'd be losing valuable people in my life. Scott helps me make the most out of my "mental illness" and I feel I am a better person for having him around. So now that I've "outed" myself as a nutter I leave you with this portrait of Scott.

Cheers. That really means a lot :)
