So my favorite manga artist of all time is Ken Akamatsu. The first manga series I ever bought/completed was Love Hina and from then on it was pure love of the man and all of his artwork. Thus I'm currently addicted to Negima!

And thus... when I saw Dark Negi for the first time... I had to do my own drawing of the scene. This is far from incredible, and it is now where as impressive as Ken's design... but I wanted to tone it down just a bit... and keep the kid looking more like himself. In Ken's drawing Negi was very different and the darkness was dwarfed by the fact that we now have this IMPOSSIBLY powerful kid standing on the page.

Heck! Negi's father is the most powerful person alive so DUH! The kid has strength. I wanted my drawing to show the fact that Negi... for the first time... chose to do something dishonest and twisted. He CHOSE dark magic over hard work and effort... and this therefore is going to have consequences. I wanted the drawing to still look like Negi, but shaded heavily and his expression twisted. I think I got what I wanted. I love it... and thus you get to look at it.
