Great composition but...

The drawing and composition are great!

You might want to work on your coloring/painting, though. Avoid using black to shade and white to enlighten. using scales like these, tend to create muddy and dull atmospheres. Use color saturation and complementaries/triads to shade instead of using shades of black.

Work around a focal point too; the background is way too lit to bring attention to your character; and the fireplace is a perfect prop to make the focal point.

You might want to make your highlights brighter around the fireplace, and giving everything an orange tint near it.

Don't be afraid to use bright highlights even in night scenes; it makes the important things pop up and look neat.

Don't forget to shade as well; near light sources tend to create sharp and darker shadows.
