From the novel Shogun by James Clavell.
Not based off any scene in particular... Just wanted to make something serene, tranquil and stereotypically Japanese.
Also, the whole book cutting thing was inspired by the works of Su Blackwell. Google her some time.
The illustrations, trees and whole fifth grade diorama setup of this is all mine though.

I had to do a book piece this past semester, I actually had fun with it. Yours is a wonderful piece, I like the shreds of paper around the book like little leaves, again something I wish I had done in my project ha ha!
