My best friend from long ago... Digital Painting 002

This is Tucker, she was and still is my favorite pet my family has ever owned. When I was little we would tie the stroller onto her collar and let her pull me around. Tucker loved finding and killing snakes, she was good at it, she was never once bitten. Then one day my friends came over to my house and were about to walk into the backyard when suddenly she came barking and wouldn't let them in. Then they realized that there was a rattlesnake in the yard and she was protecting them, she went to and attacked it like she had so often before, but she was alot older and not as fast as she used to be, she jumped at the snake and he jumped at her and bit her nose. My friends grabbed a shovel and hit the snake in the head and killed it, but Tucker ran off having gotten bit. She laid on the front porch swollen for about three days, she wouldn't eat or drink or move. Flies started getting all over her, we tried to help her with meds and other things but she was to old to fight the poison and she past away. We always remember her for potentially saving my best friend, and the fun we had, so I drew the picture of my memory of her, the good memories that stick with us forever and ever.

Thanks to Jazza for creating a topic for the cotm that really not only pushed my skills, but made me realize the true impact a good pet has in our lives.

Thanks for looking
