Acrylic Painting 008 - 1929 Model A

Share

So this is a painting of my dads 1929 model A ford pickup, there is a few things wrong with it that make it look wonky,
first the headlights are in the wrong position, if they were in the right position the front of the truck wouldn't look shrunk compared to the rest.

second i had no idea what I was doing with the shines, and shadows on the truck so they are a bit muddy.

Thanks for looking and as always I am open to tips and advice.

Right now, I'd say dude, try again. But with this in mind, keep it simple. Less is more here. Get the basics of the 29 Ford right and the rest should follow. Don't worry or work to laboriously over the shiny chrome wheels and bumpers and lights and pipes...get them in position first then worry over that. Looks good for a water color soft focus take really. So props.

MACGYVR responds:

thanks and i will, alot of times it seems i get straight into detail, and i should try to pace myself, i didnt mean for it to have a water color look, i guess thats the muddiness of the colors, but i would like to try actual water color painting, it seems to be the most simple and you dont need all kinds of fancy tools and brushes like acrylic or oil. thanks for the advice! :)
