FOR GOD'S SAKE DO NOT VIEW FULL SIZE! The size you're viewing on right now is fine!

Fuuuu this took me long. I finally got the scanner to work and then worked out the drawing afterwards. I hope the shadowing worked out better than the previous ones, so... Enjoy!

Oh yeah, if you're going to watch/read deadman wonderland... I've just spoiled a major plot change for you; you're welcome.

EDIT: updated the pic, fixed the blank part on the left side. Thanks to the first review.

Very good drawing. That was my favorite part of all 12 episodes... lol. But seriously, it was a shame it bombed in japan. So they only made one season, but here is some good news... They're now airing it on [adult swim]'s toonami!! There's even talk of a SECOND SEASON. have the anime. have all the manga. love it all!

MaartenC responds:

Seriously? I always found it a shame that the series didn't look like it was continuing, even the manga. The series is one of my faves (perhaps my fave), so yeah...

Thanks for the review, mate. I think I'm gonna re-read it this week :P

Nice piece, I'd class this and most of your other art works as "a good start". Basically what you need to do know (in my opinion) is get your hands on some drawing software. It doesn't have to be one that requires money like Photoshop, you could get GIMP which is just as good but free. Then what you need to do is make the lines darker and add colour or if you prefer to keep it in black and white more shade, finally a background, even though not a lot can be seen of the background in this piece it's always nice have something there.

MaartenC responds:

I've had recommendations of GIMP before, I'll seriously consider it now. Everything till now has been done with hand, which is indeed a tad... outdated, but I do like it.

I'll see what I can do, thanks for the advice.

Its a really nice work done. I dont like the manga stile personally, but i appreciate it.
The better thing on your work its basically the details: That seems the picture more complex than really is, but Its a good one-line drawing.
Finishing, I hope you have a good future here, in Newgrounds... only if you get scouted first.

MaartenC responds:

Thanks a lot, man. I do try :P

Nice!

I like it how accurate the forms are. All you need is improvement on the shadowing. ^^

Tri-life

MaartenC responds:

Yeah, the shadowing was indeed pretty hard. I'll fix that with my next drawing. Tanks a lot for reviewing!

Nice, really nice :).

I like the nose, it's well done and not in a wrong size. Because the noses I draw always get something wrong.

However, the shadows. They didn't work out really really well, maybe you could have faded it a little bit.
But they are at the positions where they belong, and that's a good point too :D.

Due to the lack of colors (which isn't a minus) I'm more looking at the shadows. Because they give some color to the drawing, if you know what I mean.
And when they are not very perfect, I am inclined to dislike it. Which isn't exactly true with this one, but it's a minus of one star :).

I recommended you for the portal, because I know you can draw fuckin' well :D. Godd luck with other drawings!

MaartenC responds:

Sammetje! This review was surprisingly good, especially from you (no offence :D)!

Anyway, I know I kinda fucked up with the shadows (mask) and I CAN finish that, but due to unfortunate reasons (laziness), I won't fix that. Also, the shadows in the real life drawing are better (mask not included), but that's the scanner's fault.

Thanks for your recommendation for the portal and thanks for the compliments!
