Still Life of Boiled Eggs

3D model of boiling eggs, done in Blender 3D. I know it's not terribly interesting, but I am pleased with the realism.
2 hours of modeling, 1 hour of rendering (250K polygons), no post-work. This is an experiment with transparency, reflection, and refraction. There are reflections on the steel handle and the water's surface that use a photo I took. The steam bubbles aren't as clear as I wanted, but the one-hour render time talked me out of fixing it. Hope you like.

id say your best work on newgrounds.
i dont see how people can be so critical about my art when theres isnt as nearly as good. keep up the good work though.

It is rather odd that you think my "best work on newgrounds" only earns a 6. :-P And the wonder of being a critic (and doling out 6's) is that it is far, far easier to see the flaws in something created, than to create something flawless.

Wow, when I first saw this I was just like "Wtf why'd someone put up a picture of boiling eggs." But then I read the description and was just like AWWWW SHHIIT.
That's badass. I wish I could do that. Print out a piture, hang it on the fridge and be like.
That's right. I made those eggs... VIRTUALLY.
I know nothing about art, especially not 3D art but this looks really fucking hard to make, and it looks really real. 5/5. :D

nice animation dude I could not make anything close to it......I give it a 10 because i think the animation is really nice...keep on making them dude!!! P.S. I hope the eggs came out good LoL

I'm getting hungry looking at this..I give this a 7 cuz i like the detail in the bubbles and eggs, but i think the picture cold have more detail in the background.

Woah.

Really nice!
But, everything looks to clean, you should have had some steam coming from it and a little bit of water spots around the edges. This is still good though, but that would have made it more realistic. :]

Thanks, Creative, that's a great idea! A little dust and oil on the stove wouldn't have hurt either ...
