Claws

Copper claws with black transparent enamel, and with a semicircle of copper wire soldered on to the base of each one. It's very satisfying to wave one's fingers and listen to them clack together. Project was started three or four semesters ago: I only recently returned to it and finally finished it.

I didn't intend for them to turn out so gothic, but using anything other than black enamel would have distracted from the elegance of the forms and competed with the natural beauty of copper.

Are there any other materials that you also work with? I'm just curious.

That aside, the claws are amazingly well done and seems comfortable to wear! Since I have the bad habit to chew my own nails, having this would probably make me think twice!

I hope to see more work. =)

It'd probably be easier to list what materials I don't work with, but I'll try. In no particular order: silver, copper, and bronze sheet metal and wire, enamels, canvas, paper, matte board, acrylic paints, oil paints, pen and ink, pencil, watercolor pencils, soft pastels, plaster, woodcuts, a little woodworking, charcoal, conte, found objects, digital and traditional photography, etc.

I've done a fair amount of digital work in the past, but it's all on hiatus until i have access to the right software again (read "anything more complicated than MS Paint"). I've also worked in clay, but I'm not as fond of it as I am of all of the above.

I'm hope at some point I'll learn how to work with watercolors, iron, steel, gold, and resin, and I intend to improve my abilities with the rest.
