Pokemon

A picture I did for my best friend's birthday, it's our Pokemon characters running along the beach in our hometown.
I don't usually draw Pokemon, but for her I made an exception! <3
(The Dragonair is a 'shiny', they can exist!)

Nice

Also I am happy to see I was never the only one to get a shiny Dragonair. I remember catching two shiny Dratini a long time ago in Gold. I made on evolve into a sleek male Dragonite and kept the other as a female Darognair that looked adorable strangely.

I really like this artwork though. It shows them all relaxing with their Pokemon rather than trying to fight all the time like you have to in the games to get anywhere. I also found that after I got my whole current team to level 100 I would move onto making six brand new Pokemon got to level 100 instead of keeping the same team. It allows you to get a better idea of what are good Pokemon to use.

The background here looks really nice. I like how it is simply a beach and the two trainers are simply having fun running alongside the water.

Overall, great piece of art.

cool the best art in the world

muy buen dibujo muy bueno sigue asi ve a por mas

wth is that thing in the backround

whats that red blur near the mountain lol nice drawing though love your other stuff 2

LovelyKouga responds:

Oh sorry I forgot to mention! At the top of Mount Maunganui (this mountain exists, yes!) there is a red beacon that flashes at the top of it at night or cloudy days. I think in the 'Pokemon' world, it'd be an Ampharous shining it's tail-light, since it does it in lighthouses and the like. ^^

whoa the hands

seriously wtf is with the hands? birth defect maybe? super tiny hands. I thought only anime was suppose to have them tiny nose and mouths, but not hands. The pokemon are cute. not perfectly drawn, but cute. Least you didn't put the trainers having all the legendary pokemans cause that's old and lame. Could score higher but it's anime...not a fan of anime.

LovelyKouga responds:

The hands are actually correct in comparison to their bodies, as they are only 11-13 years old. I think what threw you off was the token big heads of anime. In comparison to the heads, the hands are too small on a NORMAL person, but not with anime, there are different styles of anime as with cartoons.
Like this anime: http://cassieblondedoll.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/higurashi_main_characters.jpg?w=390&h=320 the hands are TINY, and their heads are so big they're wider than their shoulders.
That's fine if you're not a fan of anime, not everyone is. :)

What

Okay, either the perspective of this piece is horribly concieved, or this is supposed to be an optical illusion comprised 2 anime girls, 6 badly drawn Pokemon, and a screen-shot in the background of either Mt. Vesuvius erupting, or the 2007 Tsunami. (or was it 05?)
The characters are straight out of a "How to draw Anime" book, and the Pokemon seemed to have been drawn without any reference. I also am spotting some sort of "shadow" or "shading" under them, guessing it's an attempt at emulating depth; which I can give you credit for, but then take it away for not doing it, and doing it, and doing it well.
About the Pokemon:
-Evee seems ot have twisted "her" right ankle. (Okay, I know the leg's supposed to be turned towards the right, but it isn't shaded accordingly, so it looks twisted)

-Pikachu has a well drawn head, but the body seems to be a reject of one of those robot dogs they used to make in the late 90's

-Marreeps pretty good I guess, no real problems

-Dratini looks a bit too small, like it was badly shopped in there

-same with Sneasle, not sure what the fuck he's doing here. Looks like he's trying to do that jerk dance the black people seem to love.

-also I caught the Mew and Latios(or latias whatever) and they look REALLY out of place.

And I don't know how to conclude this so I'll say penis.
Penis.

LovelyKouga responds:

The background I hand-drew, and it's Mount Maunganui.
'How to draw anime book'? I guess I'll take that as a compliment, because, hey, guess what, my style IS anime. Duh. XD

And no I didn't use any reference, my bad!
'Mareep' is actually a Flaaffy.
'Dratini' is actually a Dragonair.
And that's horribly racist! Sneasel, she is attacking the two little Pichu's down there.

Mew and Latios are in the background.
I don't mind if you don't like the picture, as I drew it for my best friend. Those are her two fave legendaries. <3

Your comment wasn't helpful at all, you could have specified how I could improve but you know, whatever.
