Decided to make a naive attempt at shading this work lightly. Let me know what you think!

Its a nice drawing, good anatomy and the pose is nice, it just looks a bit incomplete, maybe you could have did more shading to make the drawing look less 2d I dont know, good job anyway :)

I feel the background's emptiness may have to do with that. Someone recommended that I should use gradient fills if I use an empty background in the future. What do you think?
I think the shading could have been more dramatic, and you don't have any mid tones or highlights (or at least it doesn't look like you do), but it's still a nice piece. hope that helps :) I'm far from an expert though

By more dramatic do you mean more defined? Sharper edges between each shade or just a wider range in shades?
