This piece is amazing. The color and overall feel of the picture is awesome. It looks sort of creepy but also peaceful in a way. I love how big the drawing is too.You can really see the detail in the painting. The background is great and I love how the room is smokey.
It seems like the two died suddenly and did not expect their death at all. Like they are peaceful and were enjoying themselves at the time that it happened. The lack of jaws on the skulls adds a whole mysterious quality to the piece. It also looks really cool. They almost look like father and son with the one one the right being so much taller unless the one on the left is just supposed to be farther away.
Your whole painting style is awesome and I love the feeling that this painting gives you. It makes me feel sort of happy like I don't need to worry about the problems I have.You said that this was inspired by one of the best nights of your life and I am starting to see it the more I look at it.
One thing I am wondering about is why they still have hands and their clothes are still looking fine even though the rest of the body has decomposed and a spider web is attached to one's skull. But whatever it looks nice. I really like how you put more detail on the skull than the clothes. It really makes them stand out and look like the main focus point of the drawing.
There really isn't anything wrong with the piece. Except maybe the way the area around the skull on the left is blurred. Unless that is just to make it stand out even more than it already is. It also looks like the table only has two legs. Pretty much a flawless painting in my opinion.
I love this drawing and it is my favorite painting I have ever seen. I have it set as the wallpaper for my computer right now. ( : Anyway you are a great painter and I love all your work (this is my favorite though). I hope to see more from you soon.
Also, Modest Mouse is awesome.
