Wandering Season

Share

This painting for Jazza's "Wandering Season" prompt is done by me, Amanda Todd.
I used Acrylic Ink on wood panel and a mix of microns and prismacolor nib pens for the outlines, and white acrylic for the snow in the trees.
I wanted to personify Spring as a nymph-like androgynous figure. I picture Spring as fun, exciting, sassy, colorful, but not as energetic or "crazy" as Summer. I gave her a grassy green mohawk fit with spring flowers like tulips and sunflowers, and fluffy Spring birds. I set her in a light background with some barren trees that have seen fresh snowfall, and some of the frost and coldness of Winter has made the tips of her hair start to turn brown and frost over at the tips, along with some of her colorful flowers. But she isn't worried, for when Winter is over, her colors will shine brightly.
