Epic Mario Battles

Through today now, Mario and all the characters are seen a cartoon like and not taken seriously. Back when I played Super Mario Bros. on the NES, this image was in my mind. Not exactly like this but it came pretty close.

I made Mario more gritty, but not too much. I designed him to be more of a Revolution Leader then a plummer, I also gave him his trademark hammer from the first Mario Bros. The Koopa Troopers were designed after the Hawk Men from the Flash Gordon movie, and the Gumpas came from the Head Carps from Half-Life. I kept all characters the same, except for putting Peach in a Prison Uniform and Designing Luigi like Shaggy form Scooby-Doo. I took a whole day to color, shade, detailed, and textured Bowser. I designed him to be more brutal and more reptile than the original one, not to mention demon like. Every thing else was just a quick touch up.

I do not Own the rights to these characters, This is just Fan Art.

Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bower, Koopa, Gumba, Toadstools, Toad, Toadet, Yoshi, Super Mario Bros. and all related content are officially the right of Nintendo

Really good. People don’t seem to realize how scary some of the Mario enemies would look in real life. The closest we got to realizing that was the 1993 live action Super Mario Bros. movie. Personally I thought the movie was good and I consider it a classic but I think they should’ve learned their lesson after it. Video game movies just don’t work. (At least the fully live action ones).

That's fantastic! I like the pixel fire! And how it lights the enironment. The rest is cool too.
