One of my first digitally colored pics. Was actually pretty scared about how it would turn out until the last lil bit.

"Awesome comp but still needs to be pushed."

date: August 14, 2009

I really love the composition although some more foreground elements/characters would have added to the strength of it. The color pallet and values are really working well. Once again however I feel that you really could have pushed the rendering of the piece.

"Wow!"

Very good use of coloring, lighting and shading. Reminds me very much of one of those giant warriors from Nausicaa and the Valley of Wind. A picture is indeed worth a thousand worth - this one tells its own story.

Definitely favoriting this. I love it!

"Incredible."

This picture is incredible in several ways my friend. Like DarkFaker said. A picture is worth 1,000 words. Or in this case, more.

Well done, inspiring and skillful.

"Very good"

I think this may be the best use of lighting i have seen on NG Art so far! I have seen alot of good pictures and this is one of my favorites, I love how it looks like hes climbing across the land and how his tears make rivers.

A picture is worth 1,000 words. This is worth, to me, at least 10,000. Great picture, everything blends very well, and I'm not just talking about the color.

This is definitely one of the best pictures I've seen so far on NG. Your piece is a 10/10, and a 5/5.

So one lesson learned today: You can draw 4/10 of a picture and that can count for 400 words towards an essay! lol.

"Nicely Detalied"

I like the shading and lighting and how he seems to be coming out of the mountain. Is he crying or is that just water from a pond or something?

Author's Response:

Its kind of open to interpretation I guess, but I suppose I was going more for tears. No real motive for them though. Just wanted to make a folklore-ish origin for mountain rivers
