Ice Queen

Share

Hey look I drew something!

The colors on this is kinda messed up because technology is dumb and I cannot use my scanner with my computer anymore. So I took a picture with my phone and did an Auto Tone in Photoshop. It’s not a wonderful result but it’s close enough.

A couple of years ago, I drew a red dragon and called the piece “Fire King”. I had always intended to do a companion piece for it, but did not get around to it until now. So, this is the “Ice Queen”.

I wanted “Ice Queen” to be more jagged and sharp compared to “Fire King”, plus the warm / cold color theme. Pretty happy with the way these two look together, especially considering they were drawn a few years apart.

I slapped the big watermark over her because I’m planning on putting the original drawings up for sale at a craft fair in the future. I'm not overly-paranoid, but just in case.

I think it turned out wonderful! The color combination is stunning with the sharp details really bring the piece all together. You did a wonderful job of capturing the Ice Queen's expression! I just wish my artistic work is just as good as yours.

Aw, thank you very much :) I always appreciate your kind words!

I think there are a couple of things I could have done differently, but I definitely enjoyed drawing her. She looks pretty good next to her boyfriend, too ;D

I know the whole "practice makes perfect" advice is given out left and right, but practice is really important. So is drawing things that you enjoy. That will keep you motivated, and then you can push yourself beyond that. Don't be afraid to give it a shot! :)
