Manuda Drum Bug

Share

The Manuda Drum Bug gets its name for tapping rhythmically on the fallen trees it lives and feasts upon. Although its cendra looks like a leaf it is actually a protective shell on top of its already armor bound body. It has 2 ways to defend itself from attack: 1 is to pinch with a 1000 ft lbs. with its jaws. It can also whip its long needle like tail at potential threats and inject a toxin that paralyzes its predators for up to a week depending on their size.

And I thought scorpions were awful. Your description painted a picture of a bug that could be both camoflauged and poisonus which can really be the stuff of nightmares! But despite the awesome description your drawing did little justice to it. The piece was more of a picture then a drawing!

You could have put the bug in any setting you want, something that really shows the bug in all of its glory... but instead you made it sit on a tree. Boring. You didn't even make it that appealing, most of the bug is a leaf and hides 90% of its body, there's really nothing to look at other than the better than average shading you did...
