Cyber Ship

Share

This is the space ship I'm working on for the Cyberpunk level of the upcoming Art Forum Game.
I figured that I should show it off and get some feed back.

I have the wings open to show combat mode.
Perhaps I will post a closed version to to show flight mode.

So guys let the feedback roll!

Nice

This model looks nice as well, but yeah, it needs more details. ^^

Also, the wings look a bit weird, but maybe that's because of the white and blue colours while the rest of the ship is in green and darker colours. Now it seems as if the wings don't really belong to the ship, so I suggest that you try to either colour the ship in brighter or the wings in darker colours. I think the latter would look better.

Detail seems to be what everyone wants, so I'll get to it, I have some free time now so maybe I can return to a few older projects that have been pushed to the back burner lately.

Hmmmm....

Well there are a few things i wonder about this:

1) Is the ship design inspired by starfox? Because it sounds an aweful like that to me.

2) What program are you using to get 3D effects?

And here are a few pointers:

1) There needs to be a bit more detail work in the wings. Give them more of a fly-able look.

2) Maybe smooth off the edges of it just ever so slightly, but don't make it look spherical(if this makes sense)

3) Use a bit more color overall.

4)More general detail. Give it some aesthetic charm.

Anyways it wasn't too bad. =3

Kinsei responds:

Detail seems to be eveyones biggest issue with this model, so that is a sign that I need what? Yes, thats right. more detail.
Honestly I'm not mocking you on this, I just needed a creative starting line for my response. Although I joke around a lot, I take critique and reviews very seriously.
Ok back on track here

this ship wasn't inspired by Star Fox, It was just something I was playing around with when I was trying to come up with the cyberpunk stage.

For my 3D I tend to use 3DsMax, Maya, and Zbrush, or a mix of all 3.

I'll get some more color and detail in there I promise. :P
thanks for the review and 7 it'll come in handy later when I use my 3D models to RULE THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!

Nice 3D

I think this is a pretty well created little piece - it's got a lovely layout and it looks CGI on the main hull of the ship, while quite cartoon-like on the wings - this might be down to a lack of 'clinical detail' or hard edges, but it's something that certainly looks very interesting for a start.

I know that it's just a piece to be added to a later work, but the background could be a little more inspirational - adding a quick Sci-Fi layer wouldn't ahve killed you, after all :P I like the shadows and I'd have been particularly impressed to see how you tackled that when compared to some sort of building, for example. With the wings again, would there be something different for the shadows there, as they look like they are made of glass or perspex, of some description.

I look forward to seeing what it is a part of.

Kinsei responds:

I don't know a sci-fi layer might have done me in, those things are dangerous man....
o.0
yeah, an issue with a lot of my stand alone models it that they lack any sort of context, not background at all. probably something should work on.

If this doesn't get chosen for the Cyberpunk ship I have an animation I want to play with. so it's cool all the way around.

Cool review, thanks

Simple

It's very simple, basic...
I love the wings! :) You can add more details on the main body of the ship, like thin red lines or something like that, it's up to you.
Overall it needs more details, and the shadow is a bit off.
I'll give you a 9, I like it. :)

Kinsei responds:

cool thanks, I'll look in to adding "Racing Stripes" and some other details.

Very Basic...

It makes me sad to write this review, because I dig the majority of your work.
But I think you missed the mark on this one.

It's really basic, I think you should have at least included a background,
& the ship itself seem quite generic.

Overall I feel it's "meh" work, which is disheartening coming from someone with proven talent like yourself...

Sincerely,
- Celx

Kinsei responds:

as I have said before, we learn much from defeat. And me missing the mark is surly a sign that I still have much to learn. it's the reviews like this one that really fuel my fire, and for that I thank you.

I will try and come up with a better ship, one worthy of my other works.
