This may be, probably just the limitations of 3D modeling, but his face is not showing the surprise and anger of this revelation for quite a while, and on the second panel he looks quite calm.

Other than that everything is working quite well, the character's speech and his response makes sense according to what we know and his environment, for example him abandoning Rion to look for his sister, and also his racist remarks work quite well taking all into account, and since we are still early on this we don't really know him that well. But yeah the expressions didn't changed that much on between panels and pages, and i don't know if that is because he has a goofy/comedic face or because of the program.
