This started off as a traditional grey scale painting I did on request. The subjects are a mother & son. I was approached by the wife of the son to produce this picture for her mother-in-laws birthday. Have fun unravelling that convoluted sentence.
After I completed the picture I decided to play around with it and make the painting more colourful and aesthetically pleasing by burning in a watercolour slash.
I was deeply inspired to try something as abstract as this by a painter called Agnes Cecile. If you get a moment, check out her youtube videos - they're fucking rad.
On a side note, I always pick the most difficult times to concentrate when uploading this pictures for some reason. Right now I'm pretty fucked on my epilepsy medication right now, which makes sitting down and writing simple descriptions a fucking chore. If I've forgotten to write anything else, I'll be sure to add it when I'm not mind fucked.
That'll do for now.
Lots of love,
L00N
