My Piranha Plant Revisited sculpture's mouth.
In creating it, I based my design on this question: Had it been based on a real living plant, what would it look like?
I used clay, a strengthened wire skeleton and a special mix of acrylics to get the right appearance of flesh (particularly the inside of the mouth).

Did you cut someones tongue out and put it there?
i gotta ask, what kind of glaze are you using for this? i can never find one that doesn't crack, stipple, or yellow quickly. the work is beyond par, i particularly like how deep the crevices are between the teeth, lips, and tongue; its marvelous depth that you dont often see in sculpture because its done in one large block rather than joined pieces. the tongue is wonderfully textured as well compared to others i've seen. really top notch
