Hyper Mecha Suit First Digital

Share

That one guy who gives me the best reviews, FrostBittenFire, recommended the orange color.
This is my very first digitally colored work that I did by my self with no help. It took 2 hours. I first tried using a free app on a tablet, but then settled on that one paint program on everyone's computer. I probably could have made it look better and done it faster with a print out and colored pencils, but I didn't print it at the library and was in the mood to color.
I also didn't want to color over the original drawing since Hyper Mecha Suit (uncolored) is one of my very best drawings and it would suck to make a mistake in coloring over it since colored pencils smear instead of erase.

Nice! I haven't been on NewGrounds for a few weeks because of school starting but I'm back now and I like how you listened to my color request, I think it looks great!

One of the problems I've noticed with your drawings is that your struggle a bit with the practical die of the design. What I've noticed happen a lot when drawing sci-fi robotic or cybernetic figures is the focus is more on making them look cool, rather than functional and the opposite tends to happen. Now, I'm something of an engineer so, it's a bit easier for me to judge than someone who doesn't know a lot of the mechanics, what it would take for a robotic suit like this to actually work. A tip I can offer is do a bit of research on the technical side of how robotic constructs such this are usually portrayed and how they would function, mechanically. And try analyse your drawing as you make it and constantly ask yourself if each part of it makes sense. Anyway, good job. The look of this one is pretty well done, all in all.
