This is an okay portrayal...

But I, along with others, would disagree with how you personified him. I'm not saying that resemblance between your drawing & Spike isn't physically uncanny...but most wouldn't picture him like this in human form. It has been a reoccurring thing in the show that Spike carries himself as someone with a certain "classy bravado". He acts like quite the pimp when he wants to. If I can suggest anything for future attempts at personifying Spike, go for something for stylish & elaborate. He may be a kid, but he doesn't act it most of the time. Noone would whole-heartedly disagree with anyone portraying him even older than you did.

JusticeBustedUs responds:

I don't think the persona itself should be how my ratings are based, considering I'm shoving it here for artistic purposes. I didn't have to put my art out there, I'm simply allowing it to be judged and considering the fact that, no one has given me a single review on how I drew/colored/edited/etc. it (which is why people post things on the internet, unless they're that conceited, ei, "Isn't my persona better than the rest?" type reasons are conceited), I would have to say that I have no clue where my talents lie.

Disregarding the lack of reviews on this particular site, I would have to disagree with you on the "classy bravado part". How is this character not classy in his own mind? After all, he IS a dragon, and if he didn't look so young in the show, surely he'd be a bit tougher, even if he is a sweetie (that is, ignoring how the show depicts dragons to be more selfish as they "age" or grow). There are plenty of punk rockers/dudes with green mohawks and guyliner who find themselves to be classy. I understand what you are saying, but people can think well of themselves and not be the typical norm.

Humans are strange creatures, so why can't personas? But as I said before, it is not the value of my imagination I am asking for when I, myself, post on a website, but rather the value of my skill. I understand I am not that great at digital painting, but everyone seems to be questioning eachother's imagination. When a person happens to upload something imaginative, it seems to be the only comments they get (I've done it too, but I also point out how well/strange a certain aspect of the picture is).

In conclusion, when reviewing a piece of art itself, try leaning more toward the value of the drawing/coloring/overall composition instead of your personal tastes for the persona/object/person at hand. After all, it IS a personal taste, considering someone asked me to draw him this way instead of his normal style.

Sorry if any of that seemed rude, it wasn't meant to be.
