it was suggested that i take a bash at johnnyutah's awesome tankmen. so i quickly did up steve bringing the fear to the enemy with a shot right to the dick.
it was alot of fun working with those characters. i love johnny's stuff so it was even more fun re-watching all the episodes and laughing my ass off.
hope i did an alright job. gimme hell if i didn't.

But there's this question that always itches someone's back when they see something as mind blowing as this and everything else you've done . . . What art program do you use to draw all these fantastic pieces, I've always wanted to know :3

hey jkamovies!
to answer your question i use sketchbook pro to lay down my lines (usually at 300 dpi to keep em clean). then i haul the image into photoshop for some quick and easy selection and mask coloring! after i do a fer shadow and highlight passes i tend too overlay some textures from cgtextures.com (i am a fan of the plaster selection).

Two things that attract a LOT of attention, but Madness seems to get all the art. Nice work evening things up a bit :D
This is an insanely awesome picture. Every time I watch tankmen, I think about them in human proportions, just like this. Nice job!

it's cool to hear that you think about the tankmen like this. i had a lot of fun doing this piece and will no doubt do another one and incorporate some of the feedback in here.
as i am one giant noob on newgrounds i missed the madness day mayhem but did catch up with all of it's violent antics and will no doubt draw up something next madness day :D
I love it when an artist takes an original character and puts their own spin on it. The tag line is perfect too =p

-first of all my reason is same like hawkmuffinz
- he looks fat
- when he slide (look at he's feet) there are rock flying but no sand
on steve's shoes( i mean under the shoes)
- i don't like the ears...

I dont like this one
- Its not one of your awesome zany creative original pieces that i do so enjoy.
-Since it has a specific scheme, you had to stick with its color pallete of grays, and oranges which strays far away from your previous vivid and lushly colored artwork.
However i cant go lower than a 7 because its wonderfully done and still has alot of your styling in it.

the palette was definitly a factor when i did this guy. and you're exactly right that is effected the way i drew the guy in the first place.
you actually brought up a very good point that is changing my approach on my next piece so thanks for that.

The 'ear' things... I don't think that they are part of the helment design, but I could be wrong. Like the overall drawing and find it immensly amusing. The only thing that throws it off are those... ears(?). And it freaks me way out....

i figured the ear things would be like radio/sound buffers from the tank. so i made them like high tech ear-muffs.
haha sory for freaking you out, i'll try and make it either more clear or change the design next time i do a tankmen piece.

Pretty nice interpretation of tankmen, and of course high quality work. I saw some other people mentioned the face, and I'd have to agree that it does seem very off. It seems like the whole head is a bit too far to the left (our left) and the position of the mouth and goggles are odd... well I suppose the whole composure of the face seems odd.
But you did say you quickly did it so...

Although I have to say this isn't my favorite of your works (I've got to agree with Overlord15 about the face), you still have that... something that you do which makes your art great. I don't really know how to explain it. You did an excellent job conveying the feel of tankmen though, nonsensical and hilariously violent. Please keep the great art coming, you have a natural talent for this!

i'll agree that the pose isn't the best.
the first one i drew up was in the standard standign pose but it felt way too flat. too bad this position isn't your cup of tea, thanks for enjoying the rest of it though!
But the only negative thing is that his face is robot-isch other than that verry good :)
