A very appealing character. You did a great job incorporating the different elements in to the design.

One thing that takes away from the image over all is that everything is rendered more or less the same; because the pumpkin, knife, rusty metal, skin, and hair are all shaded similarly, the character looks more like an action figure than an actual living, breathing creature.

Also, the whole image is pretty evenly lit because there are so many light sources with similar brightness. This makes the character seem less spooky/weird/creepy.

Good job on this, though. I'm impressed. =)

When you were drawing this, did you draw it with the intent of splitting it in half for the banner? Or was it split later as an afterthought. Before I saw this, the banner looked like 2 separate drawings, but with the same theme.

The more I look at it the more I feel you planned on splitting it down the middle, I guess I just find it interesting that you created it as one.

I've never liked Pico all that much. He's okay but I really don't know how the games became so Newgrounds-famous. I know, just about every user disagrees with me.. But it's what I think. (I've been using Newgrounds for at least 4 years now. stfu calling me a noob.) Anyway, back to my review. The reason I gave it a 9, honestly, is because Dad is growing in a jar in the back.

I love this 4 2 reasons: 1 It is done very skillfully and 2 Last year when I was making jack-o-lanterns I screwed up and got pissed off and just did a normal face but stabbed it with a butcher knife afterwards and it looked quite like the one in this work.

It's more the feeling I get from the piece. A morbidly cozy, somewhat familiar and still unsettlingly cool type of feeling. The colors are lovely and almost surreal and everything simultaneously reminds me of the best candy bar ever made though it's not one that I've eaten before, just the kind you always want to buy and there it is on the shelf but you're too afraid to spend the money on it because it MAY not taste good (there is always that chance).

My review may not make any sense...but your drawing does to me. Well done.

I normally don't give tens out of nowhere, if they have even the slightest flaw, it's not a ten (which i believe fair)... so you can imagine how I considered your artwork :)
Great job man! The first impression I had is that of something halloween-esque version of amixture between Pico and Bioshock! Hehe!
The light effects are great, and the background suits perfectly!
Oh, and btw, why so much lightbulbs? LOL, the other kids are gonna have soooooo much fun of him breaking them with their slingers! (what are them, Dennis the Menace? Bart Simpson?) ^_^

The shading and lighting, especially with the multiple sources brings this to life, but the details that get me are the merging of various NG characters. :)
