After the Charlie Nash piece I did (uploaded yesterday), I did a Star Wars piece which I'm not sure I like enough to upload. BUT! after that one, I painted this Akuma piece.

With this one, I wanted to have something that looked much more painterly than some of my other work, with Akuma's form looking as though it were made up of some indefinite shadow. So I just kept layering dark green paint over the red under painting, repeatedly (yes, that's green paint!).

I loved the result, and apparently so did a lot of people. In fact, when selling a print of this at this past New York Comic Con (2015), I had a guy come up to my table and say to me (to paraphrase) that he had been to every artist's table at the convention and felt that this was the best Street Fighter piece at the show! (And, of course, he bought a copy.)
