Well.. here's another challenging suggestion: Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal.
Because, you know, Twisted Metal is also 'started from back then' and Sweet Tooth is still recognisable, no matter what version of the game :)
ps: seem easy, just red and yellow.. but I bet these are the toughest to get just right.
