I did this comical image for a project in one of my classes a while back. We had to take a selection of text from somewhere and illustrate it. As you can see I chose a quote from the Darwin Awards and illustrated it with a fitting image.
This was done using my own technique to "vectorize" photographs using a combination of Flash and Illustrator. I used a picture of my own arm holding a wooden pole for the base image in this picture, while the bear is based off of a photograph of a sleeping bear.
A fun tidbit of information about this picture is that it illustrates something outlawed here in the state of Alaska. We have a law that specifically forbids anyone from waking a sleeping bear for the sole purpose of taking its picture. Keep in mind that we have these laws because this sort of thing became an issue. >.<
Other things we have outlawed are dropping live moose from airborne airplanes, getting moose drunk, and (in our state's capital) bringing your pet flamingo into a barbershop. Yeah... That's our tax dollars at work.
