Witchblade

There's a fun story to how this one came about! yeaaay!

OK so basically, ever since I started learning to draw, I've been terrible at drawing females. TERRIBLE. Even if I drew one that was better then the others, it still resembled a man in it's subtleties. Well, very recently I got the Compendium of the Witchblade comic series and LOVE it, which lead to me thinking, 10 years is too long to shy away from drawing something because I'm not naturally good at it.

So, I started the way I started when I first taught myself how to draw: copy. I copied heaps of the poses and pics of the females in the comic. An hour later I started to draw them without reference, then I realized my problem. I have never taken the time to learn a decent construction method of drawing females. Two hours later, I was able to draw females at the same level and confidence as the males I draw!

So, I decided to pay tribute to the comic character that helped me break out of my sexy shell! And here she is, Sara Pezzini: Witchblade.

I hope YOU guys think she looks like a chick, or else I'm screwed...

Witchblade

Very bold, saturated, warm color scheme. That "PARTICULAR-WARMTH" builds on the fierceness of her expression, bringing out the tone of confident strength from the artist. Her pose also converses the confidence surrounding her strength level, and the completeness of said pose is made possible by the vertical, "EXTENDED-LAYOUT" of the image. The presumably dangerous scales surrounding her body is an interesting addition to her, and the shadow adds mysteriousness overall.

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
I would suggest maybe some props in the backround maybe some scene in the backround or something like this.

~X~

this is one of my favourite pieces you drew! love it!

This is stunning! She definitely looks like a chick, Jazza. Lol. This image actually reminds me of one of the first covers I saw of a Witchblade comic, when she teamed up with Lara Croft from Tomb Raider.

I remember Witchblade. I didn't know she was from a webcomic. I just assumed she was an X-Men character. Seriously, that probably has the most individual characters of any popular thing. I think this is a great picture. You really seem to capture the toughness of her.

I think I may have seen her before. It looks like she's covered in bones or something. That is one awesome design. You really know how to put detail on all of her body. She even has spikes on her shoulders.

She looks scary, but hot too. Cool work Jazza
