As part of a special project for school I am working on visual studies surrounding the book " The Anubis Gates" by Tim Powers.

Horrabin is the leader of a beggars/ thieves guild. He is also a sorcerer and as such cannot not touch the earth otherwise it will cost him a large amount of pain and thus he uses stilts to keep off the ground. He also uses his magical powers to disfigure his followers so that they gain more sympathy while begging in the streets, but he makes a lot of mistakes.
