Gladiator

A quick painting I did because I love gladiators and just had to get it off my list.
It's my first time drawing a background so I messed up big time over and over again so just concentrate on the gladiator :p.
I hope you like it.

Nice gladiator, and don't hate the background. Even if you messed up, which I don't see where you did ;), it looks like a BACKground where detail is less important than in the main image(aka foreground). It looks like a painting should, a detailed foreground, and less detailed background. As always, you could do some work on refining the art, but other than that it's great.

HugoVRB responds:

Well I did the background just because I was tired of leaving the foreground alone.
Thanks for the review :)
And I will work on my art everyday and upload better stuff!

The Gladiator you painted is really good.

HugoVRB responds:

Thank you :)
I'm glad you like it!

I do like it...I would give the gladiator a wider range of tones...more contrast on the pieces of armor(helmet, forearm, shield). maybe if you darkened the hell outa the Background it would give him a more intense feel. kinda like a spotlight on him...just a thought. good job...oh and more shadows on his body..

HugoVRB responds:

Thank you :)
I do have a big problem.
I get really impatient and I always want to finish drawings in one go, I know I rush a lot of things and everything could get better.
I like the idea of the spotlight.
Thanks again for the review and thank you very much for ignoring the shitty background :p
