"Road to the Cypress Trees"
A recreation of Van Gogh's "Road with Cypress and Star". This was the result of a high school project (circa 1993-1998) in which we had to reproduce the work of one of our favorite artists. My mother and I actually worked on this one together.. I always had a harder time with watercolor than with other paints, and she used this project to teach me some techniques with the medium.
Watercolor.

absolutely amazing
This is incredible......
Very much holding to the Van-Gogh-esque legacy.
Perhaps I'm just seeing too much, but I notice the cypress has two trunks, almost as if it's standing on two legs. This coupled with it's mere height and the fact it is circumscribed in front of both the moon and son, represents almost a timeless, guardian-like aspect to the tree over the country side.
Maybe I'm seeing too much, or maybe that's too simple, but that's what speaks to me in this piece. Very well done.
