Cockatrice, I HATE YOU

Share

Fought a creativity block. I owe an important screenplay and a lot of lines. Thankfully, this helped get my creative juices going.

My digital works always suck compared to my sketches. It took longer cleaning out the lines/scribbles than it did drawing this. I may or may not ink/color this piece since me and coloring are not yet close enough friends. I don't want to mess this up since it turned out alright.

I've always drawn animals/monsters/creature s better than humans. I have absolutely no idea why. The "I HATE YOU" refers to this very fact, as I get extremely frustrated whenever I'm reminded of this... Since I especially want to draw humans as well as I draw creatures.

Mah gawd...this is awesome!
Yeah, for some reason animals and monsters/kaiju are easier to draw for me as well.

Really?

I thought the I hate you was about how damn annoying cockatrices were to fight in DnD. I like the sketch, though the tip of the left wing seems cut off, but the face is Beautiful (in a chickeny kind of sense)

Hnilmik responds:

Sure, why not! I don't like it when my characters turn to stone in RPG's anyways.

While I was sorta cleaning up, I was wondering if anyone would notice that spot and it looks like you did! There's also something else a bit off with that wing too, so if I refine this, I hope to fix those up!

COCKADOODLEDOO!!!!!!!!!

this is a really cool sketch. it would look better with color tho or at least if you went over it with ink or something. but i understand your reluctance; me and color arent very close friends either! i always refrain from adding color in fear of ruining it but hopefully that will change over time for the both of us!

Hnilmik responds:

I drew this with ballboint pen, so I'm assuming inking with something like a micron pen, huh? Someday I'll know how to color. Someday.

Looking forward to our future color-friendships!
