To grasp the basics, you can try creating these different objects:
A crate,
a store,
an observatory,
a glass,
the inside of a house,
an animal (dog, cow, horse, cat, chicken)
a person
Remember, pixeling is a slow and painful progress, making one building can take several days to get it just right. Organic things are much harder to do than mechanical things in my opinion. Mechanical things have straight angles and perfectly round shapes, organic shapes have a more irregular form ...
Nice
nice tips
Its ok...
But you broke many rules such as, on the two orange blocks you have a line of three on the bottom instead of two...
Yes, I like it when the cube is symmetrical, so I tend to use three pixels at the bottom. Making three pixels instead of two at the bottom also gives the cube smoother corners. which I find to be a good thing.
Simple enough for beginners
Havegum, you have created a simple pixel art tutorial. It is quite good for beginners who are starting out. You could also touch on the shading colours more, and mistakes to avoid for beginners like pillow shading. I hope you understand why I did not give a perfect ten, for a perfect ten, would be close to impossible, as the work should be perfect.
I hope to see more of your tutorials!
