very good use of the thumbnail.
it's probably the last thing I expected to see when i opened it up lol
the shading on the cat itself is well executed though the background and smoke do look a little flat. I would also try to avoid totally flat horizon lines, maybe chuck in a couple of rocks or something :)

Poor kitty....
...sacrifices itself for the flood.
I like how you managed to include the thumb. The additional objects are really funny, especially the aliens who remind me of Kang & Kodos. As said by others before, the background could use some additions.

And yes, the background is very plain. I suppose I should've added some clouds and whatnot ...
