A steam punk robot I designed in my life drawing class in college. Sketched and inked on paper, scanned, then colored and textures added in Photoshop. Piece inspired by the Daft Punk song of the same name.

though looking at it I can't help but think of Robo from Chrono Trigger. I dunno if that's what you had in mind or not but at least it still looks original enough to me

Steam punk is a style of art and other mediums that focuses around a victorian industrial age era where machines run off steam or other more primitive fuel sources. Visually, it uses a lot of copper, iron, wood, chains, gears, etc. Do a search in google or on deviantart for a good idea of what steampunk is. :D

Very well done. Its so hard to find GOOD original "mechs" (I don't mean to label). Very good.

Thanks! I was very pleased with this design. And it's ok to label, most of what I draw are mechs and robots. :D
This is great, I love the style, the design, and even how that bit of background looks. My one complaint is the steam, it looks very cartoony and out of place compared to the robot itself. The way the robots outlines are a darker color of the inside color isn't applied to the steam and really makes it stick out.

I agree with you, and didn't mean to do that at all. I have been meaning to either touch up this piece, and/or create another more interesting piece using the same character soon. I have the motivation to do so soon. :D
i know it has nothing to do with your piece, the style you did this in is EXACTLY like the art on windwaker. and by that i dont mean the graphics but the art in the book.
