Immortality

Share

This is a vector Illustration i did some time ago. I really admire the work of "Hydro74"
, one of my all time favorites when it comes to Vector Illustration. You can see this as a kind of tribute to him. I also used some elements he gave out for free. The Mask itself is inspired by the Immortals from "300". I tried to vary it a little bit here and there and put a vast amount of time in getting the linework properly done in Illustrator. I hope you enjoy this! (This is my first upload to the Artportal since I got scouted by the legendary lenkobiscuit yesterday...thank you a lot by the way!)

Wow! ...I can't believe it! I got scouted two days ago and made it Frontpage now!
You folks are awesome! Thanks a lot! It is really cool to see so many people enjoying arts and graphic design around here!

Wow, this is freaking awesome! I find it strange how you described it so much in the author's comments, but didn't really explain what it meant. I have learned to appreciate masks. This is because my mom paints and she worked on a mask for a really long time. I mean, actual masks in real life, not a painting. Painting on masks.

Speaking of which, we should make those here and submit them as art pieces. It seemed to me like you were thinking more about power than immortality. Of course, the two can go hand in hand. The use of colors is really good in this. Gold looks so well against black.

WOO

so this great very nice man
i only see clean lines i like iit

GraphicDude responds:

Cool to see you like what I do! Thanks for full score!

Wow!

Very clean lines and a nice rework from 300...

GraphicDude responds:

Hey thanks! Yeah...I love the clean lines you can achieve with vector illustration!

badass and awesome

i love the face, the detail is great and i love the contrast between the dark grey and the white... i also like the added touches to the flowers and things around the face, it just adds a little bit more to the picture and to the idea of the picture, which is awesome, i love 300 and the idea of the immortals... my favorite thing about this picture has to be the design at the bottom... it has an incredible artistic aspect to it and just ties in really well with the picture, with the whole idea of immortality, the gate and the skull... all of this is extremely well done, and the contrast of the colors make it that much better... i also agree with gobblemeister... this would be a remarkable shirt that i would buy in a heartbeat... amazing job, well done

GraphicDude responds:

Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words and your great review! It means a lot to me, to see how people here appreciate what I do! This is what me keeps going on with my work!

Well...if I should have some free time I will check out where to get those shirts printed! Seems like there is some real interest from you folks!

Thanks to you all again for the warm welcome here on newgrounds and the all over
cool reviews and PM's I received!

Shirt Design

This whole image just screams to be put on a shirt. I really love the design at the bottom with the gates.

It adds an ethereal edge to the entire image which is otherwise very spacious. It would have been nice to see you do more with all the spots of black but the simplicity makes it subtle and casual.

Great for a shirt or sweater.

GraphicDude responds:

Yeah...so many people here asked now for a shirt of this maybe I should really get some printed! :)

Thank you a lot for the nice review and the 9 stars!

cheers!
