nice

okay heres my thoughts: it should have at least a small bit of glare, and the light emitted doesent seem to affect the nearby stars apropriately, perhaps a colour change in the halo is also in order, also the fact that its perfectly consistant and spherical with nothing else (like solar flares or inconsistent spots) is also odd, plus theres no nearby debris or planets or meteors or anything so it just seems out of place.

though it is a very nice peice and all in all it deserves at least an eight.

really good

I give it a 9 because its really well done, however much more can be done to make this even better. The guy under me pretty much sais it all ;) Nice work.

Not perfect yet

The halo should be yellow, not that much bumps (or how those spots are called). Maybe add some planets in the background... Or a planet edge in a corner.

gr33bl3r responds:

a more yellow halo? not a bad idea. and i have had a few people say that the background needs work. maybe a planet might help. we shall see. Thanks for the review!

WOW

WOW,this looks like a distant star......OH yeah it's the sun!! lol

gr33bl3r responds:

nice. glad you liked it!

Okay

While it is a nice picture of the sun it really is kind of bland. When I imagine the sun, I imagine a hellish fireball burning in the emptiness of space. I think this picture needs to invoke some more of that imaginary. Perhaps some more solar flares shooting off and make the sunspots more contrasting and reduce the thickness of the glow just a bit and make it more asymmetrical.

gr33bl3r responds:

thanks for the review! and yes i totally understand what you mean! i tried for like hours in blender to get good looking solar flares but in the end the only thing i achieved was a weird looking loop thing coming off of one side of the sun. thanks for the review!
