A Deku Shield replica I made. Part of a costume.

The symbol from the thumbnail was already enough!

Making this by hand must've been hard, I can tell by the way I want it badly.

GenericName54 responds:

It actually wasn't that hard to make. Cutting out the shield was a matter of tracing a picture of the deku shield that I printed onto a gigantic piece of paper, the symbol was just running a router over the surface, and the handles were just nailing a couple of pieces of wood to the back. I think, overall, the hardest part of making the shield was figuring out how to get it the right size.

neat

I like the concept of this piece accompanying a costume... however there are of course several differences with the shield you made and the actual Deku Shield.

I'm sure if you work on it a little bit more it will be a masterpiece.
...until then I'll just assume this is a work in progress.

I assume the main difference you're talking about is the fact that the bottom isn't an angle, in which case, that's entirely on purpose. In OoT, the only reason that the shield's bottom is like that is due to visual constraints of the N64. You'll see it's a LOT more smoothed out in the 3DS version, as that's what Nintendo was going for originally. Aside from that, the only big difference is that I chose not to make the edges lighter than the center, and that's personal preference.
