Great painting! I just don't get why you'd want to do a chicken lol.
I really like the depth in the eye socket area. Gives a great perspective. And you've managed to catch the "wild predator" of the eye as well. Really wicked stuff, dude.

a few improvements
the flat black on the breast could use some texture or something.
the background on the left shows too much of the light blue that you put down first so it just looks kinda lazy.
the head is really well done though especially its separation from the other parts. looks really clean

Thanks. I agree about the background and I couldn't get the breast right at all so I gave up and just painted it black. I should have put more work in I guess. I'm still experimenting at the mo with paints... it's a new hobby. Hopefully I'll improve.
I have died and gone to heavon the beauty in that is amazing.

Maybe if you can only draw the head of the bird, try putting a bird head on a human body maybe?
