Excellent work. This guy looks like an anti-cleric. A large hammer in one of his hands or even a mace would set this piece off, but as is; well done!

Don'tcha know that you have to submit autobiographies with each and every piece? And that your art has to be full of rainbow puke and colorful kittens in order to count as art?

But seriously, ignore that guy.

I would love to see whatever project this is concept art for! Looks like Morrowind meets StarWars in a very awesome way :D

Thanks OfBeauties! This is a piece for a fantasy setting I'm developing called Skies of Alestria. I will be posting new work about the setting in the near future. =) so glad you like it.

What is that? Did you invented it by yourself? Did you copy it from somewhere else? And what's the history behind this picture? Did anybody help you with its creation? If yes, who? If no, why did you choose to work alone? How long did you take to develop this stuff? What technique did ya use? Are you planing to make a sequel of it?
Lotta unanswered questions. I could give you an higher rate if you first explain. The picture is not good at all however. Colours are too flat and there is no real dimension in your work. It doesn't involve the spectator with his feelings, it just looks at you giving nothing but cold and distance, as you would watch an average cold pot in an average kitchen.
Also, the background has a kind of monotonous colour. With other words, it doesn't offer emotions and involvement to the viewer.
Andy Warhol said: "I'm afraid that if you look at a thing long enough, it loses all of its meaning." The problem of your work (of this picture I mean, of course) is that it loses all its meaning even before to get a meaning, giving the viewer no chance to design a meaning or at least an own interpretation.
My final opinion as summary of my artistic critique: A cold spot in the middle of nowhere!

Hi Rupert0ne,

Sorry for not elaborating on this piece a bit more in the description. This is an original design created for the fantasy setting I'm developing. I worked alone on the design and painting. I choose to work alone because I'm not sure how I would work with someone else on this. I will do more pieces featuring this character in the future. He is one of the main antagonists of the setting. Sorry that this piece isn't for you. I chose to focus on the form and reserved use of color. I followed Rembrandt's portrait color palette. Hope that helps you find more meaning in the piece.
