to put it as simple as possible, i only liked this movie because of Joy, period
I guess Joy wanted Sadness to stay in her circle for a while. :3
This is a great hyperbole for their relationship in this movie.
...Also, just to reply to something someone said down in the 'comments', the whole point of the movie is that sometimes being sad (which is different from depression) is normal and healthy and it can actually lead to some real positive things sometimes. Killing sadness would've made things SO much worse.
