Titus Van Buren Revisited

Share

I returned to Titus for the first time after many months. I tried a lot of new things in this, mainly doing more by hand, including the line art. I wanted a more organic and vintage feel to the piece, mainly cause I think of the character being from high class in a victorian-esque era. I went through many concepts before I got to this version and am focusing on shapes and detailing with hair and fur. I also ditched the iris on the eyes for a homage to traditional western cartooning styles.

Anyway, here's Titus......dapper as hell.

Nice to see you going back to this. I 'agree with the eye choice for the most part. It only falls short on a judgement call of 'close'. That said, at distance most eyes look like a dot of color on a sea of white. And up 'close' there is where the detail is. As for other notes here, just me saying...Victorian era they had a thing for hats and prestaged poses. And I will agree he is quite dapper for this shot.
