This is my entry for the ‘Draw with Jazza – Challenge of the Month January’. This is my first drawing in a contest, as well as my first drawing of recreating a pose, so I would call myself a beginner in illustrations like this. I don’t know how to work with Photoshop or any drawing tablet (although I would love to) so this drawing is made with just a pencil, a marker and some paper.
I decided to draw Donkey Kong from the old arcade games. When Donkey Kong raised in popularity Nintendo made Donkey Kong more loveable, but he started out as the ‘bad guy’. I tried to recreate that badass feeling, because I believe that suits Donkey much better.
Of course I don’t own any rights of the character. The character is designed by Shigeru Miyamoto. That means all the right belong to him and Nintendo (the publisher of the games).
