8-Bit District 9

Share

I always wanted to do a mock-up video game of one of my favorite movies. So here it is, District 9 for Atari 2600. The top screenshot is the title screen, while the bottom is some in-game action.

i used a total of 5 colors for the top screenshot, and 11 colors for the bottom screenshot.

Epic. Ask someone who knows how to make dem games to use this, I beg of you, it need be done.

foxypanda69 responds:

i am that guy. soon enough ill be programming games using an Atari 2600 compiler and putting them on carts. i just need to learn how to use a atari Compiler and some assembly, lol.

but that is what college is for my friend.

Awesome!

Nice work man! When I saw the thumbnail I was like, is that a prawn? Haha, very nice job, I think it looks exactly like what a District 9 game would look like on the Atari 2600. (Makes me wanna go into basement and hook mine back up) Keep up the good work man!

foxypanda69 responds:

thanks bro :)
maybe someday ill port it over to the atari for real, but for now i must tantalize you with fake screenshots :P lol
