Chase Black, the first version I have of her, she is an unknown sort of creature that really does not have any other label then the name the Spirit Eater. Once upon a time, Chase was a human, but she did not get a happily ever after ending like those fairy tale books. No, instead she was raped and left for dead, and in fact she suspects she did die, and was reborn with a curse on her head. The curse left her the ability to sprout black feathered wings and a fanned tail out of her back and produce a very large set of fangs that look like they belong to a vampire. She was also left with the ability to control a shadowy sort of magic and no long after being cursed was drawn to and found a spell book that was left behind by the previous holder of the curse.

Basically the curse only belongs to one person in the world at a time. The previous holder died and in turn Chase inherited the curse the following night even though she had no contact with the holder what so ever and lived nearly on the other side of the world when she was hit with it.

Chase lived on figuring out the different quarks of the curse and controlling her new found magic and foraged an engraved sword that could not cut into the physical world but into the spiritual as well. She also found that the curse left her with the craving to rip the souls from human bodies and having just one would send her into a crazed frenzy and she has destroyed entire villages because of it. Eventually she learned to control that hunger though it can be a real personal fight for her and actually has to stay away from people all together at periods of time.

Spitfire was actually her horse during the time she was human and stayed loyal to her after she was cursed up until he eventually passed away of old age. He was a deep black coloring in his body but his mane and tail were the purest of whites. A few years after his death Chase could still sense his spirit loyally hanging around her and so with the use of her magic she made it possible to bring her horse is somewhat back into the physical world. His soul lingers around and when she needs him she pulls him back into the living world and is just like he used to be when he was alive. He is perhaps the only creature she considers as her true friend.

Spitfire only like Chase, and will not let anyone else touch or ride him. He is wild and fierce and defiantly a sort of demon horse that you do not want to piss off.
