Logan Nathan Grey Quickie

My artblock is making me draw shirtless guys! EVERYONE, TO YOUR LIFEBOATS!!! FATE'S AND FATE'S FIRST!!!

Pst, now seriously, I just felt like challenging myself with a quickie of Logan, a character I almost never draw because of... obvious reasons xD But hey... Sooner or later you gotta show that you still can draw males... Somewhat... kinda... not really... Sigh...

Anyways, quickie done in a couple hours, just for practice's sake.

Fate out!

hot

More males, please! :D (Yes, I'm a girl, so shut up XD)
You're awesome drawing women but I'd LOVE to see more men around~ ;D
What? A girl's got needs too, you know ;)

Keep up the good work~

I'm not going to be overly critical on this point because from your description I'm sure you're aware of this: it look's like one of your woman, except with a male body.

But I'm commenting on your response to crylic96:

You're practising, that's fine. But you're "trying to improve skills that are unrelated to it, like anatomy or lighting". Referring to this picture, it's just a static pose with top-down lighting, which hasn't forced you to do anything crazy with the anatomy (and even then his front is just a series of boxes, which isn't lifelike) and the shadows are incredibly basic - you haven't even attempted to demonstrate any shape on the trousers.

Good job on trying to draw a male figure, but otherwise I'm saying that you don't push yourself out of your comfort zone enough to develop as an artist.

couple of things I have a problem with here.... The art is really great, mind you but I don't like that you don't draw enough men... I understand it's not appealing, you're straight, blah blah blah... but to blame art block to draw this kind of thing at this level... for a quickie, it's pretty good. You're at a point in your art career where male is what makes your creativity juices (lol) run wild and you are more at ease to draw this kind of thing.

Not to sound all psychological on you, but maybe if you explore male characters for a while, your supposedly still acting up artblock will move along on it's own. even if it isn't easy to admit, you've got a good hand, so stop censoring yourself already, you do much more provocative things than this on a daily basis and for far longer for fuck's sake.

Fatelogic responds:

I appreciate the gesture and I get what you're trying to say but... You may have read too deep into my dumb joke, fella xD

I'll make myself clear: I never draw what I do not want to draw (unless it's a commission or something along those lines, but for my "idle" pices, I just draw what comes to mind). I don't draw many males not out of some unconscious self repression (admitedly, that'd be kinda silly, to put it lightly), I just don't get the "urge" to draw them often... But hey, when I feel like mixing it up, I do, as proven here.

My point is: My tag comments at the bottom of my pieces are usually bad puns or lame jokes (such is the nature of my stylish writting...). Don't take them too seriously.

Glad you liked the outcome, btw.

the body and face look good but the only thing that is off is there is no wrinkles in the clothing, on how it would naturally bend and fold around the legs and waist but other wise its really good, keep up the beauty
