I built this for my grandfathers 80th birthday about 4 years ago, he flew 3 tours in Vietnam, 2 of which were in the B-52. A B-52D in Vietnam colors seemed like the perfect gift, but I had a hard time letting go! Of course, I've built another since then, but I never did like AMT kits.
I used a spray can of semi gloss black, ended up leaving an outline of the plane on this path way in my backyard. Having an airbrush was great for the camo, I'm used to taping everything off and that tends to pile up. In this case, I only had to tape off the black and canopy. My only regrets were painting under the nose that light gray...
